These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and GridStrategy ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the GridStrategy platform, including all associated websites, applications, APIs, data feeds, content, and services (collectively, the "Service") available at gridstrategy.io and any related domains.
By creating an account, accessing the Service, or clicking any button or checkbox indicating agreement, you represent that: (a) you are at least 16 years of age; (b) you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement; (c) you are not prohibited from receiving the Service under applicable law; and (d) you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
GridStrategy is an independent, fan-operated Formula 1 race strategy analytics platform that provides real-time and historical race data visualization, strategy inference, telemetry analysis, and plain-language strategy commentary. The Service ingests publicly available data from third-party sources including, but not limited to, the OpenF1 API and the FastF1 Python library.
All race data, timing information, telemetry, and strategy analysis presented by the Service is derived from third-party data providers over which GridStrategy has no control. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any data. Strategy flags, confidence scores, and narrative commentary are generated by algorithmic inference systems and represent probabilistic assessments, not factual determinations.
Race strategy analysis is inherently uncertain. Pit window calculations, degradation models, and undercut/overcut assessments are based on available data and mathematical models. Actual team decisions may differ from inferences made by the Service. Do not make financial, wagering, or other consequential decisions based solely on content generated by the Service.
GridStrategy is an unofficial, independent fan project. The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Formula 1, the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), Formula One Management Limited, Formula One Licensing B.V., any Formula 1 team, or any driver. All trademarks, service marks, and trade names are the property of their respective owners.
The terms "Formula 1," "F1," "Formula One," "Grand Prix," and "FIA" are trademarks of their respective owners and are referenced herein for informational and identification purposes only.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, discontinue, or restrict access to the Service or any portion thereof at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
Certain features of the Service may require you to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You are solely responsible for all activity occurring under your account. You must immediately notify us at legal@gridstrategy.io of any unauthorized use of your account or any security breach. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms, for conduct that we determine is harmful to the Service, other users, or third parties, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You shall not:
The Service, including its design, architecture, software, algorithms, visual elements, written content, strategy inference models, and underlying code, is owned by GridStrategy and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer to you any ownership interest in the Service.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, GridStrategy grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not include any right to sublicense, modify, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works.
Race data, timing information, and telemetry sourced from third parties (including OpenF1 and FastF1) are subject to the terms and licenses of those respective providers. GridStrategy does not claim ownership of underlying race data. All FIA and Formula 1 trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Service, you grant GridStrategy a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, incorporate, and exploit such feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated herein by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GRIDSTRATEGY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY OF DATA, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE.
We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will meet your requirements; (b) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (c) any data or information obtained through the Service will be accurate or reliable; or (d) any errors in the Service will be corrected.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL GRIDSTRATEGY, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, SERVICE INTERRUPTION, COMPUTER DAMAGE, OR SYSTEM FAILURE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO GRIDSTRATEGY IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100.00). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, SO THESE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GridStrategy and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any content you submit to the Service.
The Service may contain links to, or integrate with, third-party websites, services, or data providers. Such links do not imply our endorsement or approval of the linked site or service. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the revised Terms on the Service with an updated effective date, and where appropriate, by sending you an email notification. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of updates.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods shall not apply.
Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at legal@gridstrategy.io and provide written notice of your dispute. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within thirty (30) days of receiving your notice.
If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be conducted in English. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO BRING OR PARTICIPATE IN ANY CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION, OR ANY OTHER REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING AGAINST GRIDSTRATEGY. ALL CLAIMS MUST BE BROUGHT IN YOUR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY ONLY.
Notwithstanding the arbitration clause above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and GridStrategy regarding the Service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. A waiver of any breach shall not be a waiver of any subsequent breach.
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. GridStrategy may freely assign these Terms, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms bind and inure to the benefit of permitted successors and assigns.
GridStrategy shall not be liable for any delay or failure in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, labor disputes, or failures of third-party infrastructure.
